Getting Around

A route leaves Pastra on a concrete road towards Kalin Dam. On this route, a red-marked trail leads from Ivan Vazov Hut towards Rila Monastery. The route of the “Holy Path” runs from Rila via Pastra and Metoch Pchelina to Rila Monastery.

Nature

In the area around Pastra, Rila Monastery Nature Park extends through Rila Municipality. It borders Rila National Park; its boundary reaches approximately 1.2 km north of Pastra.

Malyovitsa, Fakir tepe, Smradlivets and Govedarnitsite are located near Pastra.

The Devil's Water waterfall is also located near Pastra. Access to it is very steep and difficult, and there is no path. The waterfall is a cascade with drops ranging from 5 to 15 metres.

The cemetery church in Babinska Mahala in Pastra is recognised as a monument of fine art.
