Straldzha: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Straldzha offers striking evidence of its history and vibrant traditions within a compact area. The Historical Museum is housed in a cultural monument built as a grain warehouse in 1893. Its collections cover the history of the town from antiquity to the present day and include archaeological material, photographs, documents, as well as traditional Buene and Kukeri costumes. The museum also displays an amphora, coins and ceramics found in Marash.

Culture

The Church of the Holy Archangel Michael was built in 1857. It is an architectural and artistic cultural monument and contains valuable icons and woodcarvings. Every year in early spring, a Kukeri festival takes place in Straldzha. The annual Marash Pee folklore festival has been part of Bulgaria's national cultural calendar for several decades.

The preservation of music is also connected with the town: the Vuzhichki folklore ensemble was founded in 1964 and performed in Poland, Czechoslovakia, Germany and Hungary. Straldzha is also associated with the Songs of Vulkana Stoyanova singing competition, which takes place every two years.

Nature and Trails

The Lyulyak tourist hut is located in Terziyski Bair, in the Marasha locality. A short hike from the hut leads to Marash–Kaleto. Straldzha has warm mineral water.
