Culture and History
The Etar Regional Ethnographic Open-Air Museum preserves Bulgaria’s only collection of water-powered technical installations. Sechen Kamak is a Thracian sanctuary with more than ten carved stone circles, known as the “Suns,” on a rock extending in an east–west direction.
The Neolithic caves near the Vitata Stena trail contain artifacts from people who lived in this area around 6000 BC.
The Vitata Stena trail passes close to the remains of the Vitengrad fortress, also known as Gradat.
Geographical Location
On the Uzana–Ispolin route, a paved road leads to Uzana Hut. A major north–south road connection through Gabrovo forms part of Trans-European Transport Corridor No. 9.
