The Orlitsite protected area is located in the land of Kamchia, in Sungurlare Municipality. Its officially updated area is 3,115.293 decares. The protected area includes the vertical rock formations Great Orlitsa, Small Orlitsa and Beklembir, with elevations ranging from 500 to 840 metres.
Nature
Sungurlare Municipality includes areas within the Kotel Mountains Natura 2000 site (BG0002029). It contains two protected areas: Lalikoto and Orlitsite. Historically, golden eagles and Egyptian vultures have bred or temporarily roosted in Orlitsite. Botanical surveys have recorded more than 340 species of vascular plants there; in addition, 14 species of wild-growing orchids have been registered in Orlitsite. The small Krumova Vana waterfall is located immediately near Orlitsite.

The former name Kartal kaya means “Eagle Rock”. Krumov Bridge is located at Rishki Pass.
