Drachevo: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Drachevo lies within the Natura 2000 protected area zone BG0000230 Fakiyska Reka. In the broader municipal context, the municipality’s visitor information centre in Bozhura is intended to serve year-round as a base for nature conservation activities, environmental activities, outdoor exhibitions, eco-information events, seminars and workshops related to nature-based crafts.

Culture

Drachevo is home to an ancient archaeological road. The archaeological burial mound Dishovata Tumba is also located there. The Strandzha folk singer Komnya Stoyanova was born in Drachevo.

The Filek tradition is a game performed during Lent until Palm Sunday and described as specific to the village. It is being revived and performed by the folklore group affiliated with the Izgrev-1930 community centre in Drachevo.

The “With the Songs of Komnya” festival was held in Drachevo and featured solo performers as well as folklore groups from all over Bulgaria.

Geographical Location

Three tourist routes have been identified in Strandzha Park within Sredets Municipality: Sredets–Varovnik–Bogdanovo, a route from Sredets to Golyamo Bukovo Monastery, and a route to Markov Kamak via Dolno Yabalkovo.
