Belitsa: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Historical Museum in Belitsa comprises seven departments covering archaeology, the history of the Bulgarian National Revival, the present day, ethnography, a bazaar and a gallery. The Church of St George is Belitsa’s landmark and was built between 1833 and 1835.

Along the river in Belitsa, two wooden fulling mills are still in operation and in use. The Tourist Information Centre can also organise a specialist lecture in the halls of the Historical Museum of Belitsa.

Visitor Information

The Tourist Information Centre offers visitors a permanent ecological exhibition. It organises lectures on the municipality’s self-regulating ecological systems, as well as training courses on the habitats of rare and endangered animal and plant communities. For Belitsa’s six eco-routes, the centre can arrange a biodiversity guide-interpreter.

The Bear Sanctuary Belitsa can be reached from Belitsa via a 12.4 km drive. The final section is accessible by car, and large buses can reach the car park. The sanctuary has steep sections and more than 100 steps, making it unsuitable for visitors with reduced mobility and for pushchairs.
