History
Tarasovo has been documented in official records since at least 1477. In 1515, the town was acquired by Prince Konstantin Ivanovich Ostrogski and later developed into a mestechko, a local administrative, commercial, and craft center. The town’s Orthodox tradition is connected with the construction of the first church in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Culture and Church
The artistic plein air event “Sirenevy Rai” took place on the grounds of the church complex in Tarasovo from May 12 to 26, 2025. From 2003 to 2009, the Tarasovo Church Choir performed sacred and folk programs on various concert stages in Belarus and Germany.
The Tarasovo Sunday school is organized as a family-style school in which parents participate in the creative and educational process. A service schedule for August 2026 is provided for the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tarasovo.
A commemorative plaque bearing the likeness of Prince Konstantin Ostrogski was unveiled in connection with the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tarasovo. A memorial alley was established in honor of Blessed Prince Konstantin Ostrogski in connection with the same church.
On January 7 and 11, 2026, young artists from the parish theater “Tarasovsky Bell” wished the clergy and parishioners a Merry Christmas after the services. The Tarasovo parish was announced as the venue for the annual Ostrogski Readings; that edition was announced as the fourth.
