In Kapyl, the Kopyl District Local History Museum documents the history of the region through several permanent exhibitions. The exhibition “Archaeological History of the Kapyl Region” displays finds from excavations in Kapyl carried out in 1996–1999 and 2004. The exhibition “Kopyl Market Town in the Late 19th–Early 20th Centuries” presents household objects from this period kept in the open storage area.

Local History

The area in Kapyl where Tatars lived was called Tatar Log; it was located next to the town rampart or castle site on the banks of the Mazha River. The Mizar in Kapyl is currently the only surviving monument of the city’s former Tatar community.
