Landscape
Near Galitsa, the Vyača Reservoir is surrounded by coniferous forest and reed beds. There is a public beach at the access point from the village of Dafarentsiya to the Vyača Reservoir.
Culture
Near Galitsa, the Krestogorsk Church houses a museum of folk applied arts and a concert hall. The Museum of Belarusian Folk Art displays Belarusian decorative and applied art from the 16th to the 20th century, as well as works by contemporary masters. It was opened in Krestogorsk Church, which was built in the 19th century in the pseudo-Gothic style.
History
Near Galitsa, the Church of St Matthew in Raubichi was built of stone from 1858 to 1862. The Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration and the chapel in Ostrušicky Gorodok were built of wood on the cemetery grounds in the late 19th century. In Ostrušicky Gorodok, the Tyszkiewicz palace and park complex is a monument of 19th-century architecture and landscape gardening.
In the 1557 inventory, Gogolitsa, identified with Galitsa west of Ostrušicky Gorodok, appears as part of the estate. Galitsa is also associated with a report from the period of the German occupation describing how ammunition was hidden and passed on to a partisan group.
Location and Transport
Galitsa has a tennis court in the area of the Ostrušitsko-Gorodoksky Village Council. Regional bus route no. 221a to Brodok runs via Galitsa.
