The Iwye Museum of National Cultures is located in Iwye at 9 17 September Street and is considered the only museum of national cultures in Belarus. Renting a holiday apartment in Iŭje can be part of your personal travel planning.
The Mosque of Iwye is considered the oldest mosque in Belarus and has been in continuous operation since the end of the 19th century. The building complex of the former Bernardine monastery is considered Iwye’s most important landmark; the Bernardine monastery was founded at the beginning of the 17th century.
The Church of St Peter and Paul in Iwye was originally built between 1491 and 1495 and stands at one of the highest points in the surrounding area. The ruins of Gitishki are also located in the vicinity of Iwye.
Culinary traditions
One of the most important traditions of the Iwye Tomato Festival is sealing jars of ripe Iwye tomatoes as the official opening of the preserving season. At the Iwye Tomato Festival 2026, a nine-metre-long tomato sandwich was prepared for the guests.
The Iwye Tomato gastrofestival took place in Iwye on 8 August 2026.
Events
Over the course of its history, the traditional Christmas carol festival in Iwye has included participants from Iwye District, other regions of Belarus, and abroad.
