The Rahachow Museum of National Glory opened in April 1970 with two halls as the first visitor exhibition: one was dedicated to the revolutionary events in the Rogachev region, while the other covered the Second World War and the liberation of the city and district.
Culture
The Rahachow Museum of National Glory is a historical museum with collections on archaeology, personal documents, numismatics, faleristics, printed works, photographs, icons, old publications, coin hoards, weapons, and works by Russian, Belarusian, and Rogachev artists.
The museum also has an archaeological collection. The exhibition “Драўляныя карункі” can also be viewed; it is dedicated to wooden architecture and the tradition of decorating houses with window surrounds and shutters.
On 22 February 1994, the “Лёс салдата” museum opened in Rahachow. It displays an AM82FN aircraft engine and the cockpit of a La-5. One of the excursions popular with visitors was the themed excursion “Rogachev 1–3 July 1941”.
The House of Merchant Berl Belenky is a two-storey brick house built at the end of the 19th century. Its façade is richly decorated and designed in the eclectic style, complemented by contrasting white decoration. The building is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of Belarus.
The Church of St. Anthony of Padua is a neo-Gothic architectural monument. It was built between 1898 and 1904 from unplastered red bricks.
Landscape
Castle Hill is located in Rogachev on the banks of the Dnieper. The ancient settlement of Rogachev, an archaeological monument dating from the 1st millennium BC, is located on Castle Hill. Castle Hill offers views of the surrounding landscape.
Local Attractions
A four-metre-high mosaic monument in the shape of a condensed milk tin stands beside the walls of a dairy in Rogachev. The condensed milk monument was erected in 2013 to mark the company’s 75th anniversary.
