The NaftSu mineral water spring was discovered in 1969 in the foothill forests above the village of Galaalti. NaftSu is considered low-mineralized water with a high content of organic substances.

Culture and History
Qalaaltı Hotel & SPA is located near Chiraqqala. The fortress was built by Sasanian rulers between the 4th and 6th centuries as the main watchtower of the Gilgilchay defensive wall.
The Chiraqqala–Shabran State Historical and Cultural Reserve includes Chiraqqala, Ancient Shabran, the Gilgilchay defensive wall, the Pir Khalil Mausoleum, Shahargah, Ancient Cemetery and Charaq qala.
A few kilometers northwest of Qalaaltı, visitors can explore the ruins of the ancient Silk Road city of Shabran.
Transport
The Baku–Rostov railway line runs along Azerbaijan's northern route, with stations in Shabran, Khachmaz, Khudat and Yalama.
A highway also runs along Azerbaijan's northern route from Baku to the Russian border. Buses run daily from Baku's International Bus Station to towns and cities along the route; taxis and shared cars are also available.
Qalaalti Hotel & Spa is located approximately 30 kilometers north of the Besh Barmag Reserve and is considered a more luxurious accommodation option.
