Hagoshrim: Water, Nature Trails and Chocolate
Accommodation in Hagoshrim
Hagoshrim brings together streams in the kibbutz, nature trails in the surrounding area and chocolate workshops. The range extends from local waterways to trails leading to natural pools and along the Nahal Snir, as well as an activity for children and families. A hiking trail with traces of history is also part of the picture. When looking for a vacation rental, it helps to first consider which of these experiences you would like to shape your stay.
Water in the Kibbutz
Several streams and springs lie within Hagoshrim; a branch of the Dan flows alongside the members’ homes. This means the connection to water begins right in the kibbutz and is not limited to the nearby nature reserve. Local waterways are complemented by a separate outing destination with trails and natural pools.
Nature Trails in the Nahal Snir Nature Reserve
The Nahal Snir Nature Reserve is located near Hagoshrim, between Hagoshrim and Ma'ayan Baruch. Its trails lead to natural pools and run alongside the Nahal Snir. Both aspects are useful for finding your way: the pools are destinations along the trails, while the Nahal Snir runs alongside their route.
The route to the nature reserve follows Road 99 and the HaGoshrim interchange. The directions for turning off differ depending on whether you are arriving from the west or the east. Check current navigation before setting out and the reserve’s latest visitor information before your visit.
Chocolate Workshops for Children and Families
At Studio Ricoletta in Kibbutz Hagoshrim, children and families can make and decorate chocolate and sample different flavors. The workshops are intended for several age groups. This offers an activity alongside the nature trails where hands-on participation is at the heart of it: chocolate is not only sampled, but also made and decorated by participants.
The workshops take place Sunday through Friday by prior arrangement. Please confirm current availability directly with the studio. For planning purposes, this is a different kind of activity from the trails in the nearby nature reserve: here, there is a specific activity in the kibbutz; there, nature trails lead to pools and the Nahal Snir.
A Hiking Trail with Traces of History
The “עמק הנהר הנעלם” (The Disappearing River Valley) hiking trail passes an old grain mill and the remains of an Ottoman palace. The mill and palace remains provide two distinct historical points of interest along the trail. This offers a different perspective from the waterways: here, history unfolds along a route, while the nature reserve focuses on pools and the river’s course.
Experiences to Guide Your Accommodation Search
Studio Ricoletta is in the kibbutz, while the nature reserve is nearby. This relationship between their locations can help you decide what to prioritize when searching for a vacation rental. If you are mainly looking for a hands-on activity in the area, the studio is a specific point of reference; for nature trails and pools, the nearby reserve is another destination.
Another Look at the Northern District
The broader Northern District destination also includes Tel Megiddo. It is one of the Biblical Tells, representative of places with significant remains of cities associated with the Bible. This offers another cultural and historical perspective on the Northern District, alongside the nature and trail history of Hagoshrim.
