Discover Bruchim Qela' Alon
Accommodation in Bruchim Qela' Alon
Bruchim Qela' Alon borders Nahal Orvim. Nearby, a shorter hike follows the stream; in Kela Alon, Dalya Bersano welcomes visitors to painting and creative workshops on weekends. Nature and creative activities thus offer different options for your trip.
At Nahal Orvim: Hiking and Landscape
A shorter hike in the nearby area runs from the trailhead on Oil Road to the waterfall lookout and back to the car. The total walking distance is 2.5 kilometers. This figure therefore includes the return to the car. The trail description is dated June 3, 2020; check current trail conditions before setting out.
Nahal Orvim cuts through numerous layers of basalt down to the limestone rocks of the Hula Valley. In winter, when the rains begin, it features a series of waterfalls and round, cool pools. These seasonal natural conditions change with the rainfall. The landscape is therefore shaped by more than the length of the hike: the geology and seasonal water levels give the stream a different character at different times of year.
Painting and Creative Workshops in Kela Alon
On weekends, Dalya Bersano welcomes families, groups, and couples to her studio in Kela Alon for painting and creative workshops. If you plan to attend a workshop, confirm the current arrangements directly with Dalya Bersano.
Archaeological Sites in the Northern District
In the wider destination of the Northern District are Tel Hazor and Tel Megiddo, two archaeological sites with distinct architectural and historical features. Tel Hazor is a biblical tell with significant remains of a city associated with the Bible; visits focus on the Upper City. One of the site's best-known features is Solomon's Gate, a gate with six chambers and two towers dating to the 10th century BCE.
The Canaanite palace at Tel Hazor also reaches far back in time: the kings of Hazor used it in the 14th and 13th centuries BCE. It is described as the most elaborate palace in Israel and one of the most important in the Levant. The water system includes significant underground remains of an engineering achievement adapted to the geographic conditions. Steps three meters wide are cut into the walls of the vertical shaft; the excavated shaft is 45 meters deep. The fortifications of Tel Hazor are considered the finest example of their kind in the area from southern Turkey to the northern Negev.
Tel Megiddo also preserves significant remains of a city associated with the Bible and is closely linked to events described in the Bible. Particularly remarkable is the temple complex from the Early Bronze Age: the number of its temples, the continuity of worship, and the documented ritual activities make it exceptional. An orthogonal city plan from the Iron Age has few parallels in the Levant.
Choose the Focus of Your Stay
The available details point to different highlights: the hike covers a total of 2.5 kilometers, the creative workshops take place on weekends, and visits to Tel Hazor focus on the Upper City. When looking for a vacation rental, first consider whether nature, creating together, or archaeological sites should be the focus of your trip.
