Discover Adi: Baking, Glass and Active Days
Accommodation in Adi
Adi combines creative hands-on activities with opportunities to spend time outdoors. At a boutique bakery, you can enjoy an introduction to baking and hands-on experience, or take part in a workshop. At רחלי לילה’s studio, the focus is on making your own glass jewellery. There is also a mountain bike singletrack from the settlement, orienteering games and treasure hunts, as well as walks in the adjacent community forest. This range makes Adi an appealing choice if you want to plan your stay around specific activities rather than a single excursion theme.
Baking, glass and group activities
At the “הלחם של רוני- אמנות במחמצת” boutique bakery, you can choose between an introduction to baking with hands-on experience and workshops. Please arrange your visit with the provider. At רחלי לילה’s studio, visitors can make glass jewellery in a workshop; use the contact details to make arrangements. The two creative activities differ in what they involve: one is about baking, the other about working with glass yourself.
The company “גיבושטח” offers orienteering games and treasure hunts in Adi. If you would like to plan one of these activities, check availability in advance. The games and workshops are different ways to add a group activity to your stay; which one suits your trip depends on whether you are more interested in baking, jewellery making or orienteering games.
Singletrack and walks in the community forest
A mountain bike singletrack starts from Adi. You can also go for walks in the adjacent community forest. The forest is in the area around Adi, offering a different nature experience from the singletrack; the two activities do not form a combined route.
When planning your day, you can choose between these options according to the activity you want: the singletrack is an option for mountain biking, while the community forest is suited to a walk. The bakery, glass jewellery workshop and company’s games each offer a creative or playful focus. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Adi, these differences can help you choose which activities will shape your stay. Plan visits and group activities according to the arrangements required for each.
Archaeological themes in the Northern District
In the Northern District, Tel Hazor and Tel Megiddo offer a distinct regional cultural focus. Tel Hazor is a biblical tell with significant remains of a city associated with the Bible; Tel Megiddo also preserves such remains and is closely connected with events from the Bible. These sites are in the Northern District and complement Adi’s local activities with a distinct archaeological perspective.
At Tel Hazor, the visit focuses on the Upper City. Highlights include Solomon’s Gate, with six chambers and two towers dating to the 10th century BCE, and a water system. The excavated shaft is 45 metres deep, with three-metre-wide steps cut into its vertical walls. The underground water-collection system is considered an ingenious engineering achievement adapted to the geography. The Canaanite palace was used by the kings of Hazor in the 14th and 13th centuries BCE. The Late Bronze Age palace is considered the most elaborate in Israel and one of the most significant in the Levant.
Tel Megiddo offers a different archaeological focus: its Early Bronze Age temple complex is exceptional for the number of its temples, the continuity of its cult activity and its documented ritual practices. The orthogonal city plan from the Iron Age has few parallels in the Levant. These sites offer different historical themes to consider when planning your visit, without conflating them with the experiences in Adi.
Tel Hazor National Park can be reached from the north and south via Route 90 in the direction of Ayelet Hashahar; check your navigation before setting off. You can plan the regional journey separately and decide whether you want your stay to focus mainly on Adi’s creative and active activities, or also include the archaeological sites in the Northern District.
