Discover Yingtan: Parks, Culture and Science in the Surrounding Area
Accommodation in Yingtan
Around Yingtan, there is a range of options, from a connected park landscape within the city to science and cultural attractions in the wider region. Bailuhe Wetland Park is located in Yuehu District. When choosing a holiday rental, it is therefore worth deciding on your main interests first, then comparing specific addresses and connections with the places you plan to visit.
City Parks and Riverside Paths
Within Yingtan, the “一江两岸” riverside landscape connects eight parks. A 25-kilometre greenway links them and is suitable for walking; the parks include Donghu Park (东湖公园). Yingtan’s city parks bring together nature and culture: visitors can learn about Taoist traditions, copper culture, railway history and red culture. The park landscape offers a different focus from the science exhibitions in the wider surrounding area.
A report dated 13 April 2025 put the number of comprehensive parks in the urban area at 21 at the time, along with eight pocket parks. According to the report, the park green spaces covered 91.4 percent of the area within their service radius. It also cited a green-space share of 43.02 percent in the built-up area and 24.96 square metres of park green space per capita. Yingtan had received distinctions including “National Garden City” and “Ecological Garden City of Jiangxi Province.”
Wetland Landscape in Yuehu District
Those interested in river landscapes can visit Bailuhe Wetland Park, a provincial-level park in the wider area. It is in Yuehu District, and its core area encompasses the Bailuhe River area within the district. The park stretches from the Fuchen Dam in the south to the bridge on Tiyuguan Road in the north, and from Chuangjing Jinguiyuan in the west to the banks of the Bailuhe in the east. It is 4.28 kilometres long. These details give the landscape a clear geographic scope. If you are planning a specific visit, check facilities and access separately.
Science and Culture in the Wider Area
At the Yingtan Science Museum, the “自然之道” exhibition area covers three themed sections and a special section. “天地万象” focuses on how the universe and Earth work, “人体健康” on the organs of the human body, and “和谐共生” on creating a green home. The special section “魅力鹰潭” explores Yingtan’s geographical and geomorphological features. This combination ranges from broader natural processes to knowledge about the human body and local geography, helping visitors decide what interests them most.
The museum, also known as the Jiangxi Museum of Taoist Culture, is classified as a National Grade II Museum. Its collection includes more than 10,000 objects, among them items related to Jiaoshan culture, cliff-tomb culture, Taoist culture and Yingtan’s copper culture. Check visitor arrangements before travelling if the museum is an important stop on your itinerary.
A 2026 activity report describes students exploring the exhibition outside regular classes and learning about scientific principles; they experienced audiovisual effects in the 4D cinema. These activities are described for students. For 2025, the museum reported a total of 32 large-scale immersive performances and stage productions, reaching nearly 10,000 teachers, students and local residents. This is a retrospective account of the 2025 programme, not information about the current schedule. If performances are important to your trip, check current dates.
Choose Transport and Accommodation Based on Your Excursion Interests
For the surrounding area, a response from the transport authority dated 22 November 2024 listed the K2 bus route between Yingtan Railway Station and the Longhushan Scenic Area Visitor Centre. As this information dates from that time and current service details may change, check the timetable before travelling.
When looking for a holiday rental in Yingtan, it helps to decide first which places matter most to you. Compare the accommodation’s location with the parks you want to visit, and check current connections for excursions to the wider area. This lets you plan your stay around walks, culture, science or wetland landscapes without trying to fit all your interests into a single excursion.
