Dilijan has wooded hills and peaks. The town is home to, among other attractions, the Dilijan Local Lore Museum and Art Gallery, Sharambeyan Street, the Museum of Folk Art on Getapya Street, and the Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex.
Culture and Craftsmanship
The Dilijan Local Lore Museum and Art Gallery is included in Dilijan’s list of immovable monuments of history and culture. It has more than 1,017 archaeological exhibits and displays ethnographic exhibits, applied art, graphic works, paintings, sculptures, coins, and ancient literature. Its collection also includes archaeological finds, manuscripts, and ethnographic objects; traditional paintings, sculptures, and contemporary installations are presented.
Sharambeyan Street has a distinctive historic atmosphere. The avenue, reserved exclusively for pedestrians, is lined with traditional Armenian architecture, craft shops, and galleries; buildings from the 19th century have also been preserved there. Artisans from Dilijan work in the workshops and shops, and visitors can learn about traditional crafts in master classes.
The Museum of Folk Art on Getapya Street presents local art and handicrafts. The Tufenkian Old Dilijan Complex includes a museum, hotels, bakeries, cafés, craft shops, and workshops.
Nature and Trails
The city park in the center of Dilijan includes a small pond, walking paths, trees, and green spaces. A marked hiking trail connects Lake Gosh with Lake Parz and continues to Dilijan. Lake Parz offers pedal boats, a restaurant, and ziplines; the lake can be reached via a paved road or by hiking.
Active Experiences
The Dilijan Information Center provides information about hiking trails, rents out bicycles and scooters, and sells maps. Verev Rope Park is a wooded outdoor adventure destination with rope and obstacle courses, as well as aerial obstacle courses at various difficulty levels.
