Kotavank (Surb Astvatsatsin) is a church on a hill overlooking the Argitchi River and Nerkin Getashen. The surrounding medieval cemetery contains numerous khachkars and old gravestones.
The archaeological burial site of Demer, northwest of Nerkin Getashen, preserves traces of hundreds of stone-built graves dating from the 21st to the 8th century BC. Parts of the site have since been occupied by modern buildings, and only a few traces of burials remain visible.

Nerkin Getashen lies on both banks of the Argitchi, also known as Ishkhanaget, in the southwestern area of Lake Sevan and north of Mount Armaghan. The settlement comprises a mixture of Bronze and Iron Age burial sites, medieval cemeteries, churches, chapels and mills, as well as around 700 khachkar gravestones.
