Kotavank (Surb Astvatsatsin) is a church on a hill overlooking the Argitchi River and Nerkin Getashen. The surrounding medieval cemetery contains numerous khachkars and old gravestones.

The settlement comprises a mixture of Bronze and Iron Age burial sites, medieval cemeteries, churches, chapels and mills, as well as around 700 khachkar gravestones.
