Fans of classic rock are recommended to visit sunny Greece, as here this summer will be held a record number of concerts of world rock stars. Musical season in Greece opened the legendary band Deep Purple, which play at the end of May 4 concerts with the Greek rock musician Vasilis Papaconstantinou. It was followed by British The Cult, as well as Iron Maiden, Slipknot and Mastodon, who played several concerts in the first half of June in Terra Vibe Park in Malakas.
These concerts are already in the past, but in the near future music lovers are waiting for performances of such masters of hard rock like Judas Priest and Whitesnake (July 5, Water Park in Athens). Thessaloniki will host a concert of Nick Cave and the group Grinderman. On 8 of July at a roofed basketball stadium of the Olympic Complex will perform Roger Waters, the founder and leader of the group Pink Floyd. American glam metal band Twisted Sister will hold two concerts in Athens on July 12 and on 13 in Thessaloniki. And on July 20 at the Olympic Stadium in the capital of Greece as a part of the World Tour (Live 2011 Tour) will be held a great show by Bon Jovi, who will visit Greece for the first time. British group Duran Duran will perform in the Gi theater in Thessaloniki on July 26.
Also, do not forget that from 1 to 3 of July Malakas held a traditional Rockwave Festival, which invariably gathers on its stages a lot of outstanding rock musicians from around the world. This year in the Terra Vibe Park will perform such groups as the Prodigy, Gogol Bordello, Monster Magnet, Therapy, Kyuss lives, Pavlos Pavlidis & B-Movies, Cake, Editors and The Stranglers. And this is not a complete list of all participants. Ticket prices for Rockwave Festival will be about 71.5 euros for all three days, or 39 euros for July 3, 15 euros for 2 and 31 for the opening ceremony.
