The largest cruise liner in the world is to make the first trip

The world's largest cruise ship Oasis of the Seas on the first day of December will make its first tourist cruise. It sets sail from Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA) and will take a course to Labadie in Haiti, the board will host 6360 passengers and 2160 crew members. This ocean colossus was built by the Finnish company STX Europe specifically for the Royal Caribbean cruise giant, whose motto is: “We are building incredible”. Oasis of the Seas surpasses the previous world champion «Queen Mary II» twice, and the infamous Titanic by six times!

This is a real miracle of engineering: its length is 361 meters, width is 66, and its 16 decks rise above the water surface by 72 meters. The displacement of the liner is 225 thousand tons. Six of its most powerful engines allow the ship to reach a speed of 22.6 nautical knots. Last month, when the ship was launched in the Finnish port of Turku, and headed to Florida, "Oasis of the Seas" had to be partially disassembled so that it can pass under the Danish “Great Belt” bridge. Subsequently, when the liner was crossing the Atlantic, its strength was tested in the artificially caused storm.

The ship itself is so huge that looks more like a small city, which territory was divided into several thematic zones. The Central Park – there are restaurants, parks (there are planted over 12 thousand plants of 56 species), art and art galleries, cinemas and theatres. Boardwalk ("the promenade deck") is designed to entertain children; there are many attractions, sports grounds and studios of youthful creativity. Royal Promenade will attract the attention with the luxury brand shops and boutiques; as well in this zone is located “the first flying bar” called Rising Tide. AquaTeatre is a swimming pool, over which in the evenings are played circus performances. There are also water parks and swimming pools with wave simulator and hydro massage. In addition there are tennis courts, golf, SPA, fitness centers, and much more, and, of course, chic entertainment programs.
