Decide whether you want a resort with organised services, a quieter island with fewer visitors or a remote location focused on nature. Compare total journey time, transfer steps, luggage limits and the availability of food and medical services.
Check climate and local conditions
Rainy seasons, humidity, heat and tropical storms can affect activities and transport. Read the accommodation details carefully for ventilation, air conditioning, mosquito protection, water supply and power arrangements. Pack for the actual season rather than relying on average temperatures alone.
Plan transport and daily needs
Some islands are easy to explore by taxi or bus, while others require a hire car, boat transfers or organised excursions. Confirm how far the accommodation is from shops, beaches and the arrival point. A remote setting can be attractive, but only when the transfer and supply arrangements are clear.
