More and more tourists, and especially families, prefer to spend their holidays in Hungary. This is probably due to the beauty and diversity of this country and its people. Another reason for holidays in Hungary is the affordable housing costs. Thus a hotel in Budapest, for instance, is just as cheap as a vacation home in the country. Also, it is not a costly affair to hire a full house in Hungary. Many of the accommodations are even newly built or were recently renovated. This is especially notable in the regions that are very popular with the tourists from other countries.
The most popular travel destination in the country is the Balaton. A big lake that is about 600 square km in size km offers perfect conditions for a beach vacation. Of course there are also numerous opportunities for an active water sports holiday. As the water in the lake warms up to 27° degrees it is possible to practise sailing and water skiing in many places. The other offerings around the lake are as numerous as varied. In addition to the light recreational pursuits in and around the water there is much more experience. What about times with a tour of castles and palaces around the Balaton? In some of these old castles you can feel the breath of ancient times again.
Even friends of good wines come to the growing areas around the lake at their expense. The winemakers of the region make wines of a high quality for many years. So the Hungarian wine has become very popular not only in Hungary, but far beyond its borders as well.
