Horpács is home to Hungary's only Mikszáth memorial museum. It is located in a manor house commissioned by the writer; the exhibition follows Mikszáth's life while also depicting Hungary at the end of the 19th century.

Horpács was the home chosen by the writer Mikszáth Kálmán. In 1904, he bought an estate of 420 hold there.
