Situated between Angers and Saumur, in the Loire Valley, this is the ideal base for exploring all the famous chateaux and vineyards of the area. The cottage (50m2) nestles on its own plateau with breathtaking views across the river valley. Lake with sandy beach 3 km . To the rear is a large courtyard, overlooked by a small forest with a labyrinth of caves beneath. At the side there is a large mowed lawn with flower gardens, fruit trees and a bench for relaxing, and absorbing the view or watching the majestic sunsets. The area is extremely tranquil with many rare birds. The area is ideal for cyclists and walkers or those who just want to sit and dream over a glass of beautiful Anjou wine. Save some of your wine to drink in the fantastic sunsets!! Double bed is Kingsize bed therefore an extra large coverlet is necessary.

English and French spoken All supermarkets are closed on Sundays in this area but there is a small grocers in our village where you can buy most things including fresh bread everyday. There is a good restaurant in the village where you can get a meal if you arrive late. We were delighted when EuroRelais asked if they could use our photo of our cottage with the sunflowers and it is now at the top of their home page and every other on the internet plus the top of the French properties in their brochure. Dates to remember 2nd Sunday in August. Fete de Battage a step back in time with hand threshing of the wheat which you can then have as bread at the end of the day. Local artisans demonstrate age old methods of working and there is an all day drinks tent! Snacks served all day and in the evening a diner with dancing and ending with a fantastic firework display. 3rd weekend in September Patrimone weekend. Most chateaux and monuments open free.
