Jamaica

Jamaica

Jamaica is the third largest island in the Great Antilles group and it is one of the most popular holiday destinations of the Caribbean. The beaches in the North are flanked by lush green while the beaches in the south part belong to a deserted landscape with large cacti. Between the beaches the Blue Mountains are located. Jamaica has got a warm climate all year round and it promises a pleasant stay, however the main travel period is from December to March.

The capital of Jamaica is Kingston. It has got the seventh world’s largest natural harbor. Kingston is famous for its historic and cultural sights that are worth seeing. The Jamaica’s Montego Bay is the tourist center and also it is the main contact point for cruise ships. Those who are going to spend a holiday in Jamaica should also visit many attractions such as the Dunns River falls in Ocho Rios or the local museum. From the Black River the visitor can see the crocodiles from the boat with the glass bottom.

The most beautiful spot of Jamaica is the Blue Lagoon and many limestone caves that are a real adventure for explorers and hikers. In Negril along the palm-lined beaches and bars the crystal-clear water invites for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing or taking a tour in a glass-bottom boat.

Treasure Beach is free from mass tourism as only few visitors find accommodation in private villas and small summer houses directly on the beach. Those who want to have exclusive facilities can spend their vacation in Runaway Bay. The hotel complexes have their own beaches and are partly guilty for their unbridled nightlife. Music, folklore, art and sports are the focus of the large number of festivals in Jamaica. There are restaurants in all price ranges where you can have a really good time.
