Livorno is one of the largest and most beautiful cities in Tuscany and lies directly on the ocean. The province of Livorno, or rather, the environment of Livornos is no less beautiful and offers many things to see or to visit. However, Livorno is much better used as a starting point, because there are more opportunities to find a room at short notice and stay for a night.

There are two spas to the south of Livorno, Ardenza and Antignano, that are particularly quite enough and have enough room for swimming. Unfortunately, at the weekends they are over-crowded by the locals.

It is also very interesting to visit the pilgrimage town of Montenero that is situated in the hilly hinterland Livornos. It is a popular place for tourists who are very believing.

If you follow the coastal road in the Southern direction it will take you to the village Castiglioncello, which is a small picturesque bay with sandy beach. Here are some smaller, well-managed typical Italian hotels, which will also be favorable. To the South of Castiglioncello there is the beginning of a wonderful old Pineta (way), which leads up to the village of Marina di Bibbona and well-suited for walking.

The tradition of beautiful beaches goes further to the South along the coast in Vada. Again and again, the road along the coast of densed pine forests flanked in combination with some of the deep blue sea provides a nice contrast. If you go in Marina di Bibbona direction Bolgheri you will see beautiful cypress alley. If you arrived in Bolgheri once then here you should spoil yourself with all kinds of Italian culinary delicacies. From there you can saturate for San Vincenzo back towards the coast and in the evening you can experience a beautiful sunset over the open sea on 20-km-long sand beach.
