Ireland

Ireland

The Republic of Ireland is an island state that is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It borders with the United Kingdom in the North.

In every region of Ireland you will find a hotel, apartment or a villa for your vacation in the Republic of Ireland. Characteristic for Ireland is its breathtaking geography. In the centre of the island there are plains that are surrounded by hills and small mountains. Moreover, the many lakes are typical of the landscape. Among them is the Loch Neagh that is the most famous lake. You should also visit the longest river in the country – the Shannon – during your vacation. Carrauntoohil is 1,000 meters high is the highest mount in Ireland and it is situated in the South-West of the country. It is also should be mentioned that there is a large number of national parks across the country that should be visited during your vacation in Ireland. More specifically, these parks are located in four provinces of the country. These are Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster.

Approximately 90% of the population belongs to the Roman Catholic faith. In Ireland there were many brutal religious wars among the Christians over the many years.

While traveling to Ireland you shouldn’t miss your chance to visit an Irish pub. Here the traditional Irish Folk, a traditional Irish music descending from the Celts, is played. Overall, the cultural life is mostly present in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.
