On Curacao, which is the greatest island of Lesser Antilles archipelago, the unique tendency for tourist business is observed now. While on other resorts of the Caribbean Sea there is a considerable decrease in a tourist stream and the majority of hotels, despite the big discounts, stand near-empty, there is no free room in the hotels of Curacao.

Despite all the attempts of the government of Curacao to expand the hotel room capacity, all hotels, however, as well as a private sector are literally crowded by tourists. And it is only the beginning. According to the island authorities, the number of vacationers, who will visit local resorts in 2009, will increase by 30 % in comparison with 2008. Already now rooms in hotels and air tickets to Curacao are bought up for some months forward. Therefore the island government decided to built new tourist complexes and hotels, in order to double the number rooms by 2011.

Recreation in Curacao is not casually so popular among the tourists. The island attracts visitors with fine beaches with the white sand, located in small picturesque bays. There is no bad weather here. Average temperature on Curacao in summer is about 27 degrees, and in winter - 23-25 degrees. The night temperature does not fall below 20-23 degrees. Besides that, the pearl of Lesser Antilles is considered to be one of the best places for diving and snorkeling in whole Caribbean basin. Coral reeves set off the whole island.

Willemstad - the capital of the Netherlands Antilles- is located on Curacao. The historical centre of Willemstad is included to the list of objects of a cultural heritage by UNESCO. It will be very interesting for tourists to visit the Museum of Fine arts - the biggest one on the island. Works of well-known artists, the big collection of antique furniture with unique subjects of an interior, as well as samples of American Indian creative work are presented. Children will be delighted with visiting of the Sea museum and the Oceanarium of Curacao.
