A ski resort will be opened in Brazil
(All over the World)
(3.7) marks: 6Could you ever imagine that it will be possible some day to ski in Brazil? It turned out that now it is quite real. Very soon, near Sao Paulo, one of the largest cities of Brazil, a new ski resort will be opened. It is expexted that it will host its first guests in May 2009, when winter will start in the southern hemisphere.
The total area of the resort is three thousand square kilometers. A hotel, numerous restaurants as well as ski equipment renal agencies will be located there. Alpine skiing tracks of three difficulty levels will be opened at the resort; so many winter sports fans will definitely enjoy this new place.
It took about 17 million dollars, in order to open a ski resort in Brazil. But that is not all. In order to support alpine skiing tracks in the proper condition, it is necessary to produce 300 tons of artificial snow and ice every day. There also will be 5 refrigerating units, which will prevent artificial snow from melting under the tropical sun.
So now it will be really easy to combine a beach vacation on the coast of Brazil with the recreation at the ski resort.
